Learning Resources & Training Materials
(CIP & CGIAR)

Spanish Version »

As time and resources permit this section of the CSD website will be updated periodically to post archived or not previously accessible CIP and CGIAR materials in various digital formats, and in different languages.   The first two sections are 1) CIP only learning materials arising from a recently initiated (mid 2008) CIP Seminar Series which will be continually updated; and 2) other CIP published or CIP Learning Resources (Publications, Manuals, Videos & CDs from 1990 to 2009).  In future we plan to revised and update this section of the CSD web-site posting with online courses, other presentations and special lectures by CIP scientists.

All materials noted here are available through a simple search within the CSD site, but we plan to refine the search engine in future to allow easier access to more data and more complex searches.

This internal search engine finds information only in this section of our website.

Learning Resources (Materials from Seminars)

CIP Learning Resources (Publications, Videos & CDs from 1990 to 2010)

CGIAR-shared learning resources

This third section of the learning resources page links to an externally managed site for CGIAR system wide materials, and is searchable separately. CIP, working with various other CGIAR centers, helped to establish this site (through the ICT-KM sponsored Open Learning Resources/OLR project). Over the past 3 or 4 years it has begun to facilitate more open access to CGIAR-shared learning resources, considered as international public goods (IPG) freely and openly accessible to all.

Materials on that site (http://learning.cgiar.org/) represent two types of existing materials. The first is a repository of basic learning resources, including manuals and re-usable learning objects (RLOs), some from the 1970s on, which may be interchangeable, recombined, and used for different purposes. The second is a Learning Management System (LMS) or “Moodle” with a growing array of open or facilitated online courses on various specialized topics of interest to the CGIAR members and their partners.
