These Volumes 1 and 2 are a series of edited CDs. The present collection on Potato and Sweetpotato is based on a recently initiated, and ongoing, global inventory of CIP learning resources and training materials developed and published in English since the early 1980s. Some early archived material included here was only available in print format or in filing cabinets so had yet to be digitized or published online.

One of our long-term goals is to make all CIP historical and current materials more widely accessible globally and easily useable in different digital formats, then updated on a regular basis. These CDs are especially for developing country users or others who may have poor or unreliable Internet connectivity, but who still use computers for much of their work. We also intend these CDs as a key resource for supporting training programs or developing and delivering new online learning courses.
