Diminishing climatic risks:

A technological tool developed by CIP is able to foresee crops growth and soil erosion, allowing farmers and institutions linked to the agricultural sector to take better decisions in the planning of their activities, diminishing risks such as El Niño. The results of this analysis are available in virtual laboratories, so that scientists from all over the world can experience, on line, the farming areas of mountainous ecosystems in any part of the world. In this way, it is possible to determine, for example, how rain will impact in a given farming area in the next 20 or 25 years, and it will also be a powerful tool in environments with a scarcity of data such as the Andean high mountains.
