APPLICATION
Before beginning any formal application process, the applicant should send an EMAIL to the following email address CIP-CSD@cgiar.org and attaching the documents listed below:
In the subject of the message please specify the type of scholarship as UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP – NAME OF THE APPLICANT
- Personal letter in which the applicant specifies the subject/theme in which the thesis would be developed the thesis (*); specify if the student belongs to the upper third of the class. The letter should be addressed to:

EVALUATION AND REPLAY
Once the above documents have been evaluated by the Evaluation Committee, and based upon the (1) priorities at CIP; (2) the available vacancies; (3) the budget; (4) the upper third certificate; (5) the thesis subject; the applicant will be notified of his/her acceptance (or not). In case there are no vacancies, the application will be added to our database until further openings.
PRESENT DOCUMENTS
Once the applicant has been contacted by CIP or a researcher of the host Division, the process may continue. The student will have to present the following documents (physical copies/originals):
- Certificate from the university that the student belongs to the upper third of the class. (This is the most important, since without it, the student won’t be considered as applicant)
- Grades certificate
- Presentation letter, from the Dean of the university or institute where the student studies, indicating the name of the thesis work
- Thesis project (after reviewing the subject with the indicated scientist at CIP)
- One photo
- Good conduct certificate by the National Police of Peru - PNP (national students)
- Copy of the DNI/legal document
- Curriculum Vitae
LEARNING PERIOD
Undergraduate Benefits (Bachelor degree): The scholarship lasts one year, with a possible extension of up to one year. After finishing the undergraduate studies, the student should present a final thesis budget, in which he/she should include the cost of the grade exam. CIP will cover up to US$ 350 for the expenses and the student should cover any excess to this amount. Also, the student will receive all the benefits and assessment needed though the host department. All the travel expenses made due to the development of the thesis work will be paid by the project, every time that the trips are part of the project activities too. The students will receive lunch from Monday to Friday, will be able to use CIP’s transportation system and will be covered with a health insurance against accidents.
