Project - The
IDRC funded research and development
project, carried out by Urban Harvest
researchers, aims to contribute
to ameliorate the well being of marginalized
people in the sub district of Naña
within Lima Metropolitan and improve
their natural and social environment.
The project aims to incorporate an ‘ecohealth’ approach
implying that strong links between humans
and the biophysical, social and economic

Agriculture Documentary - The
first UH documentary demonstrates what is
urban agriculture and why it is practiced
in particular in Metropolitan Lima. The documentary
identifies the reality of urban agriculture
in the eastern district of Lima and describes
the importance of urban agriculture as a
livelihood strategy for families that contributes
to their food security and provides them
with extra and alternative income, while
also maintaining a sustainable city environment. read

Mayors' Workshop on Urban Agriculture!! - In
the last few years’ urban and peri-urban
agriculture has been increasingly important
strategy for households and local governments
to fight hunger, poverty, improve the city
environment. The municipality of Lima Metropolitan
in collaboration with Urban Harvest - CIP,
IPES, and RUAF Fondation,
have organized a workshop for mayors, city officials
and other organizations in Latin America, on

Lima - This
project aims to develop
and complement an aspect from the Cooperative
Integral Production Project in the Municipality
of Lurigancho-Chosica and Maria of Huachipa
in the province of Lima (Peru), while the
International Potato Center and the Politecnic
University of Madrid co-manage the
