Project Goals

General goal:

To evaluate the capacity of the municipal authorities of Metropolitan Lima in regard to urban agriculture management with focus on social learning.

Specific goals:

  • Evaluate the interest of municipal authorities in Metropolitan Lima in relation to the promotion of urban agriculture as a means to help local development. 

  • Demonstrate the advantages and opportunities that are presented in the planning model, like social learning, in order to implement public policies, especially in the case of political assistance for urban agriculture in metropolitan Lima.

  • Evaluate the availability of local resources to incorporate into the formulation and implementation of urban agriculture policies in Metropolitan Lima.

  • Design a model proposal for the implementation of development policies on urban agriculture in Metropolitan Lima. This proposal would complement the particularities of Metropolitan Lima and could serve, as a basis, to assist to the development of this area.
