Inter-institutional committee

Urban Harvest and UH partners have been working in the Eastern Zone (eastern shantytown) of Lima since the beginning of 2004.  A recent development is the formation of an inter-institutional committee among all Urban Harvest partners, which even includes the two municipalities.  The committee aims to promote, coordinate and harmonize the different activities and projects from each partner ensuring that the goals and missions from each of the partners are synchronized.  The UH and UH partners would like the committee to reach a level of cooperation, which would integrate all agricultural activities and institutions involved in agriculture in the area.  The aim is for the committee to function as a part of the municipality’s commitment to urban agriculture after Urban Harvest has retreated, continuing to work with the stakeholders, other local institutions and new organizations or institutions involving in urban agriculture, which would ensure a long and sustainable future for urban agriculture in the Eastern Shantytown of Lima.
